Determine your needs: Decide on the purpose of your blinds. Are you looking for privacy, light control, or simply an aesthetic addition to your space?

Measure accurately: Make sure you measure your windows accurately before purchasing blinds. This will help you get the right fit and avoid any issues during installation.

Choose the right material: Blinds are available in a variety of materials such as wood, aluminium, PVC or fabric. Consider the look you are going for, the level of privacy you want, and your budget when making your choice. Deciding on what material is especially important if the space the blinds are going to be in have a specialised purpose or involve unusual conditions.

For example, damp environments like bathrooms and kitchens require a material that can withstand those conditions.
Consider the level of light control: Some blinds are better at blocking out light than others. If you want to darken a room, consider blinds with light-blocking feature.

Choose the right colour and design: The colour and design of your blinds can have a big impact on the overall look of your space. Consider the existing colour scheme and décor in your room when selecting your blinds to ensure that they complement the look and feel you want to achieve.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to clean Venetian blinds?

Venetian blinds should be dusted regularly (once a week) while the slats are in an open position to avoid build up. A static duster would be the best option. If there is dust build up, a damp cloth can be used with either just clean water or with diluted clean green for every slat to be wiped individually. (both can be bought from your local hardware store)

How to clean vertical blinds?

A vacuum with the brush component can be used to remove dust and dirt. In addition, the fabric can be wiped with a damp cloth with either just clean water or a diluted mild detergent, depending on the fabric. Lastly, vertical slats can be unclipped from the track and bottom chain and weights can be removed and then the slats can be submerged in a bathtub with clean water and a mild detergent. After they are soaked, they need to be washed and rinsed and when that is done, they can either be hung or laid down to dry. They should not be folded.

Disclaimer: The above are recommendations from our supplier and from years of experience. We cannot accept responsibility for results of cleaning.

What types of fabric for roller blinds?

Roller blinds are very popular. They are modern, easy to operate, easy to clean and maintain and quite reasonably priced. There are 3 type of fabrics which of course each of them comes in a variety of designs, colours and textures.
1. Sheer: sheer fabric is very useful for filtering light and giving privacy during the course of the day as people are not able to see in, while from inside you can see outside. However, at night time and while the lights are on, that functionality gets reversed and people can see inside while from inside you can no longer see outside.
2. Block out: Quite straightforward, ideal to create darkness and block light. The type of installation will determine how much light will be able to come through the sides, although the fabric itself is a complete block out.
3. Filter: Filter fabric does just that, filters light however despite the functions of the sheer, the filter does not allow people to see outside nor inside.

How to clean roller blinds?

While the fabric is rolled down, a vacuum can be used with the brush attachment to remove dust and dirt. Also, a damp cloth can be used with either just clean water or a diluted mild detergent, depending on the fabric. The fabric of a roller blind should not be rubbed too hard, so it does not get damaged.
NB. Not all fabrics can be cleaned with water, if not sure, please contact us.
NB. Roller blinds should not be submerged in water.

How to maximize use of your venetian blinds according to your needs?

Should the desired results be more light, the slats of the venetian blinds can be turned down to allow more light to come in.
Should the desired result be more privacy, the slats of the venetian blinds can be turned upwards.
